Adult day care centers and adult day services, provide care for elders during the day. There are about 4,000 centers nationwide. NADSA, the National Adult Day Services Association, reports that Medicaid waiver programs, which provide funding for alternative to instutionalization, have helped jump start this industry. There is a growing demand.

Adult day care centers provide elder care, including care for people with Alzheimer's disease and dementia, as well as health services, therapeutic services and social activities. Adult day care gives family members the opportunity to go to work, knowing that their loved ones are provided for during the day.

Many jobs are available in adult day care centers, including CNA nurse assistant jobs, as well as housekeeping, caregiver and companion jobs which do not require a great deal of training, or fluent English language proficiency.
