Nurse Registries Directory
Nurse registries are employment agencies or staffing firms, acting between an individual patient (as employer) and nurses -- also including nursing assistants and home health aides, as well as companions and homemakers. These health care professionals provide services in a patient's home or care home. The individual health care workers are contracted with the registry. Nurse registries are generally licensed to provide nursing care services, but not physical therapy, other therapy services, or medical equipment services.
Unlike home health agencies, licensed nurse registries are not required to carry liability insurance. Generally, nurse registries are licensed by the state and must include their license number in public advertising.
