Otolaryngology ENT Ear Nose and Throat

Otolaryngologists, or ENT Ear, Nose and Throat specialists, treat patients with problems of the head, face and throat.
- Ear: Otology and Neurotology include ear diseases, such as injury, cancer, and pathway disorders of the nerves. They may deal with hearing loss, "swimmer's ear", pain in face or neck, ringing ears and dizziness.
- Head and Neck: problems may include tumors in the head and neck, bothcancerous and noncancerous, including the thyroid and parathyroid.
- Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery: deals with abnormalities of the face and neck, including cosmetic, functional, and reconstructive surgery.
- Rhinology: deals with disorders of the nose and sinuses, such as allergies, nosebleed, and loss of the sensation of smell.
- Laryngology: includes treating throat disorders such as voicee or swallowing problems, sore throat or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
- Allergy: may include treatment by medication, immunotherapy (allergy shots) and/or education in the avoidance of pollen, dust and other allergens.
- Pediatric Otolaryngology: covers diseases in children with special ENT problems including birth defects and delayed development.
