In addition to prescription drugs, pharmacies carry health and beauty products, baby & child care, cosmetics, diet & nutrition, gifts & specialty items, household items, home medical supplies, medicine cabinet items, personal carem, natural products, bath products, sexual health products, skin care and vitamins & supplements. Traditionally, pharmacy is the profession of compounding and dispensing medication. More recently, the term has come to include other services related to patient care including clinical practice, medication review, drug information, etc. Some of these new roles are now mandated by law in various legislatures.
