Medical imaging refers to the techniques and processes used to create images of the human body to diagnose or examine . It is part of biological imaging and incorporates radiology, radiological sciences, endoscopy, thermography, medical photography and microscopy. Measurement and recording techniques such as electroencephalography (EEG) and magnetoencephalography (MEG) can be seen as forms of medical imaging.

A radiological exam is designed to image or see inside a specific area of the patient's body for the purpose of diagnosis. Different types of imaging exams may include: ; MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging); MRA (Magnetic Resonance Angiography); CT (Computed Tomography); CTA (Computed Tomographo Angiography); PET (Positron Emission Tomography); Pet Fusion (PET and CT combined); 3D and 4D CT and MRI; Digital Mammography; Stereotactic Breast Biopsy; Breast MRI; Digital X-Ray; Virtual Colonoscopy; Vertebroplasty; Bone Scans, DEXA; Ultrasound; Fluoroscopy; Conventional Radiography (X-Ray)
