Pharmacy boards protect the health and safety of the public by enforcing laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy. They perform routine inspections of drug outlets and pharmacies; issue licenses to pharmacists and permits to drug outlets and pharmacies; register technicians; administer the reciprocity process to qualified pharmacists; receive and investigate complaints; hold administrative hearings against pharmacists and permit holders; and develop laws and regulations necessary in regulating the practice of pharmacy.
